So, whilst I spent New Years’ Day with friends old and new on the beach, it looks like I’m going to score my first surf of the new year in the next couple of days. If anyone else is choking for a soaking, then Michael and I are planning to be at Belhaven between 8 and 10 on Saturday morning. The calls and texts have been going out, so it would be good to see some more of you there too.
Surfing in January? Too right! The coldest part is actually stripping off the toastie wetsuit in the car-park after the session. In direct contrast to Bruce Brown’s 1966 film “Endless Summer” which followed Mike Hynson and Robert August’s epic trip chasing swell around the globe, here’s the first installment of “The Endless Winter” – a quintessentially British surf movie and it ought to get you in the mood. have a super surf – wish i could join you, but then i was planning to switch from my 2/1 shortie to boardies this weekend; not a 5/3 steamer…brrr. absolutely love the clip – fantastic!

Hey, Sarah – good to hear from you. Yeah, I’ll be thinking of Morgan, Mega-dog and yourselves enjoying a nice warm surf on Bondi- Beach whilst I clamber out of my wetsuit in a typically undignified manner and try to get enough blood circulation into my freezing digits to turm the hot air blower on in the car tomorrow! Stay stoked! B.
